About Us
The Domestic and Family Violence Unit sits within Criminal Justice
Interventions, Crime Prevention Division, Department of Attorney General and
Justice.
The major objective of the Domestic and Family Violence Unit is to
develop and implement innovative strategies to improve the criminal justice
system's response to domestic violence. This includes development and
implementation of the NSW Domestic Violence Justice Strategy, management of the
Domestic Violence Intervention Court Model (DVICM), and implementation of
minimum standards for men's domestic violence behaviour change programs.
The unit also produces publications that aim to make the justice system
more accessible to victims of domestic and family violence.
